Week of August 15-19, 2011

This week, the students will be starting their classroom literature study books. Sixth grade will be reading "Among the Hidden" by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Seventh grade will be reading "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. Eighth grade will be reading "The House of the Scorpion" by Nancy Farmer. Each student needs to be reading their book report book. Their first paragraph, the introduction paragraph, is due next week; 6th grade is due on Monday the 22 and 7/8th grades are due on Friday the 26th.

This week, the students will be reviewing the parts of speech and learning how to color-code their writing when they are proof reading their assignments.  They are also required to have a book report book with them at all times by Friday, August 12

Week of August 1-5, 2011

School officially starts on Wednesday, August 3rd. During these first 3 days of school we will be going over and over the policies and procedures for the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders here at Freedom Academy North. We will then be diving head first into our academics on Monday, August 8th.
